The City of Ottawa is celebrating Earth Day by offering a food reduction workshop to our residents. Using a green bin keeps organic matter out of the landfill which reduces the amount of greenhouse gases. This is great but how can we encourage residents to take it one step further? Our virtual workshop teaches practical tips for reducing food waste.
A joint initiative from the Planning, Real Estate & Economic Development Department and Public Works Department, the “I’m Reducing Food Waste,” workshop is presented by Earth Day Canada. It takes place via Zoom on Tuesday, April 25 from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm.
We encourage you to promote the following messages on your social media channels, newsletters and websites to help residents learn more about reducing food waste and decreasing their impact on the environment. A graphic is attached to support the message.
