As part of the Ottawa Police Services Board meeting on January 23, a Facilities Strategic Refresh Plan was approved. The plan includes decommissioning the Leitrim facility, which has limited community services and is past its life expectancy. A new facility is planned to be built in the South end. My priority is ensuring police are in the community, rather than behind desks.
I am working on a plan that hopefully allows for more community space around Fred Barrett Arena. At present, the area is not well served by the many city assets in the community. I am committed to improving the plans for recreational space in Findlay Creek.
