Younger children often have limited experience with traffic and lack the skills to negotiate traffic safely. Motorists need to take special care while driving. Help our children get to school safely by following these important safety rules:
- Understand the process at your school of how the drop-off and pick-up work.
- Reduce speed and follow posted signage.
- Park and walk a block to school.
I am aware of traffic pressures in school zones and working collaboratively with the City of Ottawa and school board staff to come up with solutions.
